Is there anyone out there who thinks that repeatedly smashing your head into someone else’s head, or the ground, is a good idea? Why don’t these same players sue the NFL for failing to warn them about the risks from steroids? It’s really about time people start taking responsibility for their actions. Not everything is someone’s else’s fault. All contact sports are potentially dangerous and saying that they didn’t understand the risk or the NFL hid the risk is ludicrous. Every football fan has seen at least one serious injury and many more than that. Joe Theisman comes to mind. Should Joe have the sued the NFL for not warning him that if he got hit by Taylor and his leg got caught under him he might suffer a career ending injury? Players in contact sports understand the risks. In the case of the NFL, the glory and reward, far outweighs the risk; at least at the time. So let’s get real and tell these players to stop the whining and play the game or retire. I do find it quite ironic that in a game where you get great accolades for hard hits you complain about the serious injuries that result from these hits. These cases should be thrown out before training camp begins. Can you say repeat? Go Giants!
