It’s urgent that Americans understand the dangers and the underlying intentions of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). They frame their goals as democratic even as they prove, by their actions, they have no such intentions. By definition, Democratic Socialism is an Oxymoron!! An oxymoron is defined as a self-contradiction within a word or phrase. Socialism, due to its foundational need to control the economy, social policy, environmental policy, education, and healthcare, among other issues, can never be democratic, even though they claim these changes would come about democratically. If they decide that no one can own property, how exactly is that accomplished democratically? Clearly, every American who owns a home, would fight, with force if necessary, to keep their homes. Over the coming weeks, I will expose every talking point that comprises their dangerous, anti-american platform.
While not large in numbers, it’s important not to underestimate the agenda of these “Neo Communists”. People love the word free even though there’s no such thing as free. Everything has a cost! According to the DSA, there are approximately one hundred and twenty thousand paying members. That’s .035% of the population, which is a small number. But there are others who identify with the DSA, who aren’t dues paying supporters. A July 2026 Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 27% of Americans believe democratic socialism has good ideas. But there is some confusion on what those ideas actually are or how they can be accomplished. In order to critique their platform, one must understand that their intention is not to solve societal or economic issues or improve quality of life, but rather to bring down the system. Never forget that!
Before addressing the DSA’s actual platform, let’s address the very first words in the DSA website that says, “Who we are”. And I quote, “We believe that working people should run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for the few.” Millions of Americans, including teachers, iron workers, stock brokers, publishers government employees, and attorney’s, accumulate wealth through pensions and 401k’s, (Capitalism). Are they included in “the few?” If so, how to we stop them from accumulating wealth? Are we only supposed to hate Elon Musk and his buddies or everyone who accumulates more wealth than us?
How does one define needs? Humans have different needs. Do we really need mobile phones, cars and vacations or simply bread and milk (basic human needs to survive?) Who determines what is working class? Is working class an accountant that works 60 hours a week during tax season? Or do you have to work in a factory or a coal mine? Is an administrative assistant in a nice office, working class? Is a teacher or Professor working class? Is it based solely on salary? If so, what’s the salary cutoff to determine working class? Does it vary by state? Are oil refinery workers who bust their butts working class or the few because they make six figure salaries? Of course they will all lose their jobs due to the DSA green agenda, but that’s for a different post.
The Democratic Socialists of America definition of “who we are” is dangerous in and of itself, because it pits them vs. us. Socialism/Communism requires an enemy. Just as Adolph Hitler required an enemy, the Jews. By its nature it has to convince people that their situation is dire due to the billionaires and millionaires, removing any possibility that an individual might be able to control their lives and situation, and attain the American Dream. Hitler blamed the Jews, for the economic hardship in Germany, which worked well and allowed for the horror that followed. It’s called scapegoating. Right from the Bible. Not until we eat the rich, will you be ok. In this case it’s the billionaires but it always trickles down to the middle class.
By pitting them vs. us, it assumes there will eventually be a conflict to determine who controls the resources and who makes the decisions. This is the traditional Communist definition of the “Class Struggle”. But this isn’t early 20th century Russia or late 18th century France. Don’t let them fool you! We Are All Americans!!! America has never been and should never be about Class struggle. Too many of us worked hard to build a life here and these “citizen”, “Non-Americans,” like Ugandan born millionaire, and Nepo Baby, Zohran Mamdani, and even American born Bernie Sanders, want us to turn on each other. They can not be allowed to destroy the American Dream, which is still alive and well despite what leftist politicians and leftist media tell you. That’s why millions still risk their lives, coming to these shores.
Now let’s examine the statement “Working class people should run the economy.” How exactly is that to be accomplished? Producing anything, including cars, homes, furniture, tooth brushes or services like restaurants, require capital, skill and knowledge. How is the working class, which still needs to be defined, going to run a $27.7 trillion dollar economy? Or is that unimportant to the Socialists/Communists? As they clearly state, it’s not about profit, because the government will take care of you. Hence, government run grocery stores in New York City that cost far more to open and operate than a for profit grocery or bodega. But if the goal is to make everyone working class, and eliminate essentially, the desire or need for profit, then there’s nothing to worry about. The government will take care of everything.
Assuming that the workers will now play larger roles in the direction of their companies, does everyone get to vote on critical decisions. If not, is that really democratic? Assuming there has to be some kind of hierarchy based on knowledge and ability, does everyone work the exact same number of hours and receive the exact same wages? Are we to assume that everyone is equally intelligent, innovative and creative? “Each according to his ability and each according to his need?” If everyone is equal, who gets the beach front homes and who lives in the inner city apartments? Who drives the Mercedes and who the Buick? Do we just eliminate cars altogether and force everyone to take mass transit? That’s something that these despots would like without question. Remember Mamdani’s free buses?! What about those who live in the rural communities? Do we ask them to walk or return to riding horses?
While I’m clearly joking, there is an inherent flaw in workers owning or running the economy. It’s simply not possible and is therefore the reason you will NEVER hear a member of the DSA tell you exactly how this paradise economy will function. They simply don’t have the answers!!! There is no answer for changing the most successful economy in the history of our planet. They claim it’s about fairness but real life isn’t fair. The way to change that is to work hard, learn a trade or go to a university. Whining about the billionaire class as three home owner Bernie Sanders so often does is simply crybaby, leftist nonsense and un-American!. Answers are not what they seek. Their goals are far more nefarious. They desire to control the economy and ultimately the country and become the same totalitarian despots that have always run “Communist” countries.
That’s the reason the Democratic Socialists of America advocate for the abolition of the Senate and replacing the Presidency and Supreme Court with bodies chosen by and subordinate to Congress. They claim it’s to reform our system to be more democratic. But make no mistake, United States Constitutional freedoms are meant to preserve our Republic, not to be exploited to undermine our Constitution nor our system of government. That could be considered Treason, and I would expect those in charge to apprehend and try anyone associated with a concerted effort to destroy the United States Constitution and thus the United States of America. There’s a reason no one born outside these shores can run for president. Anyone who has taken an oath of office swearing to “protect and defend the Constitution of the United States” and advocating for the abolishment of it, as it stands, should be held accountable and tried in a Federal Court of Law for Treason.
Capitalism, with all of its flaws, promotes creativity, innovation and incentives. It doesn’t tell people how to manufacture or how many to produce, the market controls that. We do have protections from restraint of trade for example because we understand that there will be those who are corrupt. But those flaws are simply part of living in a free society, not controlled by evil socialists. The tradeoff is well worth the risk because ultimately Capitalism will continue to lift more people out of poverty than any other economic system yet devised. We already know in many cases, the failure and dangers of Socialism/Communism. No need to go back there, only to count the dead bodies.
