Before addressing the Canadian healthcare system I think we need to admit something first.  The USA has become a country of morbidly sick people.  We take pills and drugs for everything.  We have absolutely lost our way and are being led down a path that only benefits the health industry; sorry, the “Sick Industry”!!  Nothing healthy about it.  Now don’t get me wrong, if you have the flu, you may need an antibiotic.  If you need an appendectomy, you need pain killers.  If you have any other myriad of diseases, you may need drugs.  But overall, we have become a weak, sick society.  I can’t remember the last time I asked how someone was and received a response of “Great”!  Everyone has something wrong with them.  So let me make a suggestion.  Try not taking a pill to sleep, a pill for a minor headache, cough medicine for a little cough or a pill for acid reflux.  Where did acid reflux come from?  When I was a child we called it heartburn.  In short, “Man Up”!  “Gut it Out”!  “Walk it Off”!  Stop being subservient to the drug industry and to the secondary gain you receive by playing the sick card.  Let’s think healthy.  Let’s attempt to stay away from drug stores.  Drug stores carry as much food, cosmetics and toys as they do drugs and yet we don’t call them Variety Stores.  We call them Drug Stores.  If we are to ever get healthcare costs under control we need to get our bodies and minds under control.  That’s the first step.  It’s that simple.
