Child Pornography – Another Dealth Penalty Crime

A while back I wrote a post regarding rape, suggesting it should be punishable by death.  The reason for writing it involved the gang rape of an African woman.  The crime of rape is an act of violence and not a crime of passion.  Therefore, it is well thought out and premeditated.  The rapist(s) know exactly what they’re doing.  They are imposing their will, their violent tendencies over someone more helpless.  Add to that list of capital punishment crimes, child pornography.  Yesterday in the news there was a story regarding a man and woman who are seen in a video with two children between the ages of 3 and 7.  They were involved in sexual behavior that was not only inappropriate but reprehensible.  Anyone who would partake in the making, distributing or viewing such a video should be put on death row if convicted.  Period, end of story.  I can’t honestly think of any crime more repulsive than that.  Children need to be protected.  They are helpless and depend on their parents or guardians to not only feed, clothe, and love them but to protect them from predators.   Abusing the most vulnerable among us is not only heinous it raises the bar of unimaginable to an entirely new level.  It’s one of the crimes where I would certainly allow cruel and unusual punishment.  Too bad I don’t have a say in the matter.  But why the death penalty, how do I justify such a serious punishment; the ultimate punishment?  Perpetrators understand exactly what they’re doing.  They make millions of dollars doing it.  They knowingly feed a sick need of the sickest among us.  Therefore, if child pornography was punishable by death around the world it would unquestionably deter at least a few crazies out there.  One thing is certain, we can not continue to allow the sacrifice of our children to misfits who get their jollies by abusing children.  Pedophiles can not be helped.  They have a sickness that has no cure.  They are terminal.  I simply suggest doing the humane thing, and putting them out of their misery.  But much more importantly, saving children from such animals should be the only consideration here.
