We have been hearing about the slaughter of Iraqi’s, particularly Kurds and Yezidis for months now and yet no has done anything.  ISIS or Islamic State or whatever silly name this terrorist group chooses to call itself, is comprised of really bad guys and inflicting terrible harm on those who oppose it.  It is worse than al Qaeda and Hamas and every other group that has come before it and yet the world has sat idly by.  Why is that?  The answer is simple, because the United States of America’s Commander and Chief is feckless.  President Obama was so concerned with proving he would remove all of the American troops from Iraq as he promised, that he never stopped to consider the consequences.  That is the sign of a poor leader.

President Obama is the worst, most inexperienced Commander and Chief in the history of this Republic.  He has now made his point and the middle east is imploding.  If at some point this group hits our interests, the blame will lie squarely on him.

The reality is, like it or not, for better or worse, the world looks to the U.S. for leadership.  We are in fact the leader of the free world.  The world counts on us to help and guide it and when there is no guidance, things fall apart which is what’s happening presently.  Germany has now come forward and said that it can no longer sit idly by and watch the slaughter of innocent human beings.  German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier commented that he was flying to Iraq to meet Kurdish leaders and the government in Baghdad to discuss what Germany can to do help.  “We cannot just watch as people are slaughtered there.  If the current threat level persists, I can’t rule out that we will have to deliver weapons.”  Imagine, the German Foreign Minister taking the lead because no one is home at the White House.

The President last week finally arrived at the realization that it was time to help the Kurds and Yezidis by supporting them with an aerial assault.  But is it too little too late?  Had he taken action at the outset of this brutal assault, it would have been far easier to defeat It.  Now ISIS has our tanks, firearms, the main dam, oil fields and access to great wealth, all of which make this group far more formidable than when it started systematically taking town after town and city after city.  Hopefully we won’t need to send in ground forces but anyone betting against the need for an international ground force to neutralize this group is not only naive but foolish.

After 6 years in office this President has learned nothing and the 2016 election can not come fast enough.  There is no doubt that he has believed his intentions are good but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.  As I have said repeatedly, President Obama like the Wizard of Oz, is not a very bad man, just a very bad President.
